Refugio State Beach is located 23 miles West of Santa Barbara on Highway 101 at Refugio Road, about six miles north of El Capitan. It has camping situated back from the shore with only a few of its 85 sites located on the water. The Palm trees planted near Refugio Creek give a distinctive look to the beach and camping area.
